Our students at Invictus share their stories of transition, support, growth, and self-discovery that they have experienced since joining Invictus.

This month Invictus celebrated Black History Month. For the entire month students have been able to read about important black innovators and relevant leaders with posters put up in every classroom. On February 17th students were able to come together as a school and participate in a very special event.

In Mr. Grossmann’s 11th grade Physics and Engineering class, students at Invictus are learning to be scientists: inventing, creating, and testing their work on a regular basis. This hands-on style class gives every student the opportunity to figure things out on their own, engage collaboratively with their peers, and meet a high academic bar for success. 

Ms. Silva joined Invictus as our full time Director of College Access. In this role, she is helping to support Invictus in meeting its mission to prepare 100% of students to thrive in a college of their choice.

As new teams in the Bay Area Charter Schools Athletic Conference, girls volleyball, boys soccer, and cross country runners have made major league strides on the court, field, and course, which we can see reflected in their season starts and finishes. They show how tremendous grit, strength of team, and awesome coaching can lead to incredible gains not only in sport, but life. 

At Invictus Academy of Richmond we are dedicated to implementing behavioral plans through a restorative practices approach that inform, educate, and provide growth opportunities for students as an alternative to using punitive actions.

We founded Invictus Academy of Richmond with a purpose to uplift the youth in our community and teach them how to accomplish their dreams. It is with great pride and celebration that we share the stories of three individuals who grew up here and decided to return as adults to work with us.

Clubs serve to activate students’ minds in a different way from their academic classes, enabling students to build strong habits and mindsets in multiple ways.

With longer school days, we are able to include more diverse activities and vary our style of learning throughout the day as compared to the norm.

Summer is here, which makes it a great time to celebrate the new air conditioning and ventilation system at Invictus Academy of Richmond’s new location. Using top of the line technology, we are purifying, cooling, and circulating our air to ensure we are safe and comfortable to gather, preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Our teachers thrive on helping students reach their goals and set new ones they had previously thought impossible. Their intention is to see students actively respond to challenges, use discourse to synthesize and build ideas, and express their opinions while showing respect to others. With this level of connection and support, we repeatedly create amazing outcomes.
