At Invictus Academy of Richmond, we believe that partnership with parents greatly supports student achievement.

Home visits

We make home visits to every incoming 7th grader’s family. During these visits, we work to learn about students’ prior school experiences and families’ hopes for their children, as well as provide information about what they can expect from our school.

family Advisory council

Our Family Advisory Council is a group of Invictus parents that plans student and family events, increases family engagement, and supports school leadership in achieving the school’s mission. For more information about the Family Advisory Council, please reach out to our parent leader, Rhonda Burton at rburton@invictusofrichmond.org.

weekly communication

Through phone calls, texts, emails, or written reports, we ensure families are updated about their child’s progress, both academically and behaviorally.

Parent-teacher conferences

We hold parent-teacher conferences every semester. These meetings enable students, parents, and teachers to collaborate to ensure that students meet their goals.

Coffee & Donuts with the leadership team

Each month, we will invite parents onto campus to meet with our school leaders and visit our classrooms. School leaders provide updates on the school and makes space for families to ask any and all questions they may have, in person.

College Information Sessions

We plan to hold college information sessions with students and families. Most of our students will be the first in their family to go to college, and these sessions equip families with important information about college options, requirements, and financial aid.
