At Invictus Academy of Richmond, we believe that partnership with parents greatly supports student achievement.
We will make home visits to every incoming 7th grader. During these visits, we work to learn about students’ prior school experiences and families’ hopes for their children, as well as provide information about what they can expect from our school.
On two Saturday’s prior to the first day of school, we plan to invite families to meet the school faculty, get information about volunteer opportunities with the school, and learn more about the school’s educational program.
Through phone calls, texts, emails, or written reports, we will ensure families are updated about their child’s progress, both academically and behaviorally.
We will plan parent-teacher conferences every semester. These meetings enable students, parents, and teachers to collaborate to ensure that students meet their goals.
Meetings with the school leader
Each month, we will invite parents onto campus to meet with the school leader. The school leader will provide updates on the school and makes space for families to ask any and all questions they may have, in person.
College Information Sessions
We plan to hold monthly college information sessions with students and families. Most of our students will be the first in their family to go to college, and these sessions equip families with important information about college options, requirements, and financial aid.
